Activist staff member Sandy Jo Thompson has been named a winner of two Chick-fil-A $1,000 scholarships. Chick-fil-A awards a number of $1,000 Leadership Scholarships as well as an additional 25 $1,000 S. Truett Cathy Scholar Awards to specially selected students. To qualify for this scholarship, students must be currently employed for any Chick-fil-A and must be attending a two- or four-year college, university, or technical school.
This scholarship is determined by a team of individuals who go through the applicants’ letters of recommendation in which they will pick the most outstanding and send them to S. Truett Cathy, the founder of Chick-fil-A. At this point he will determine the final 25 people to win this scholarship.
Sandy Jo, who is also a member of the RWC Student Government, was the first student from Cincinnati to win this scholarship.
