Career Services has busy spring on tap

Are you interested in getting a new job? If so there will be a Career Fair on Wednesday, April 22 form 10:30 a.m-1 p.m. The Career Fair will be held in Muntz Hall, on the first floor in the lobby hall way. Area managers will be on campus to talk to students. Here are a few things to do before the Career Fair:

Update your resume and try to have someone look at it. Staff in the RWC Career Services Office are available to look over resumes.

Put together a business casual or professional outfit. During the fair, wear business attire.

Be sure to bring multiple copies of your resume, to distribute to many of the companies participating.

Use your networking skills, discuss job openings and career paths within your field of study.

After the fair try to send thank you notes to the employers that you have submitted a resume with.

Career Services will also be holding an Interviewing week. During this week you will learn that a resume can get you an interview, but the interview gets you the job. You’ll learn how to present yourself effectively in an interview, handle difficult questions as well as negotiate salary.

This workshop will begin Monday, May 11, 11 a.m.-noon, Tuesday, May 12, 12:30-1:30 p.m, Wednesday, May 13, 12-1 p.m., and on Thursday, May 14 11 a.m.-noon.

Toward the end of April There will be a World Fest workshop. On April 29 from 11:30-1:30 p.m. join Careers services at World Fest to learn about global learning opportunities, international job searching, careers in-demand and marketing yourself in at tough economy. Career Services will be at one of the tables outside between Muntz and SAHB.
