For the fifteenth year in a row, the Krohn Conservatory, located in the heart of Eden Park, is host to another Butterfly Show. Last year showed an attendance of 80,000 people. This year, the staff do not expect anything less.According to staff members and volunteers, the attendance has been great again this year, with the butterflies coming from India. In honor of their special guests, the Krohn Conservatory will be hosting special events throughout the show, to give guests a taste of Indian Culture. Each weekend will have a special cultural event. Remaining events include the following:
– May 09-10: Butterfly Gardening
– May 16-17: Art of India
– May 23-24: Procession Theme. (Beginning at 10 a.m., there will be a neighborhood procession from the Krohn Conservatory to the Cincinnati Art Museum. Guests are encouraged to come in traditional dress and enjoy celebrating Indian Culture. There is a special gift for anyone in Indian style dress that attends the show.)
– May 30-31: Dance of India
– June 06-07: Butterfly Gardening (See speaker listing and plant sales in tent outside the main entrance.)
– June 13-14: Travels to India
– June 20-21: Foods of India
There are also events that will be taking place throughout each week:
– Photo Nights (5:30pm-7:30pm) Cost: $10 (Guests must
have camera to attend. No Minors.) Mondays: April 27-June 01. (Except 5/25)
– Happy Hour with the Butterflies: Wednesdays: May 06-June 10. 5:30-7:30 p.m. Cost $10. May use pin to get $4 off admission.
– Family Event: Breakfast with Butterflies. Saturday: June 06. 8:30-10 a.m. Cost: $10. No Passes or Pins Accepted. Continental Style Breakfast will be served. Reservations are required. Call 513.421.5707.
Admission to the show is as follows:
– Open every day 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
– Adults: $6 Seniors: $5 Children 5-17: $4 Children 4 and under: Free. Guests may also purchase a collector’s pin for $10, which can get them into the show and certain events for free.
