“The Uninvited” is a new release on DVD, and it’s one movie that I have wanted to see since it was in theatres. The movie keeps you sitting at the edge of your seat with suspense until the end. It is one movie that for sure will keep you thinking. The movie begins with Anna, who is checked into a psychiatric ward after her mother’s death. Her therapist tells Anna to “finish what you had started,” implying that Anna should be productive and positive when leaving the hospital. Her mother was supposedly killed by a fire in the boathouse where she wanted to be when she got sick, but who or what started it is a mystery. The boathouse though had been restored.
Anna returns home shortly to find some shocking news: her father is engaged to a woman, Rachel, who was her mother’s nurse when she was sick. Anna has many suspicions of Rachel, but her father just refuses to believe Anna. Her sister Alex and she begin to do some research on this lady, and what they discover makes sense to them: Rachel is a killer, and her name really isn’t Rachel Summers.
Who is this lady really? This is one part of the movie that makes it a mystery.
In town with Rachel one day, Anna has a vision of three children sitting in a diner where she than finds her friend Matt to tell him about what she saw. He agrees to tell Anna more about the fire when they are alone that night. Anna tells Alex what she has found out about Rachel. The movie keeps getting better at this point. Anna confronts Rachel and threatens to tell her dad that she’s having problems again.
After many twists and turns, the end of the movie is a total shocker.
The truth all comes out in the end and trust me you will be surprised to see what happens!
