Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize: No Surprise

Okay, everyone agrees, Barrack Obama in no way deserved to win the Nobel Peace Prize. But is it that surprising?Really, no, it’s not. The Nobel Peace Prize means absolutely nothing anymore; its only worth is the sizable check that the recipient is given. The award is often handed out for political reasons, and the people who choose the winner are of no great intellectual worth, nor do they hold any global merit. The winner is chosen by a handful of former Norwegian Parliament members: nothing special.

So, when you look at previous winners (i.e Yassar Arafat) and consider the context of Obama’s victory, you realize that it isn’t all that shocking that he won. In fact, hindsight being 20/20, his victory could have easily been predicted, seeing as how the rest of the world loves to appease Barrack Obama in hopes of their own agendas being fulfilled.

In the case of the Nobel Peace Prize, the committe who decides the winner has grown into another corrupt, politically minded organization that should either be structurally altered or discontinued entirely. From my perspective, the best thing for us to do is to just stop paying attention.
