Style: Crimes of Fashion in Hollywood

With the fashion prices going up and the economy still staying down, it’s hard for people not to get a little crazy. News is that three mysterious people have been breaking into the Hollywood houses of the hottest celebrities and stealing fashionable items such as clothes, handbags, and accessories. These robbers have been identified as two Caucasian women and one Caucasian man in their late teens. The first victim was Lindsay Lohan, who was robbed on an early Sunday morning. The three robbers entered Lohan’s house through an unlocked door. When Lohan arrived home that early morning, she realized people had been in her house.

Not long after Lohan’s robbery, many other celebrities started filing the same reports. Some of the other victims of fashion robbery include Audrina Patridge, Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bilson, Hayden Panettiere and Kourtney Kardashian.

Sources first thought that maybe Lohan only pretended to be robbed because her safe was missing that contained millions of dollars worth of borrowed jewelry that maybe she wanted to keep. Reports also showed that even though Lohan arrived at home that morning at 3 a.m., she did not call the police until seven.

However, after more celebrities started reporting their missing items as well, Lohan was off the hook. Reports say that the robbers found these celebrity houses from the Internet and local star maps. The only male robber, identified as 18 year-old Nicholas Prugo, was finally caught but would not give the names of the two women he was seen with.

As reported by the L.A. Times, Prugo was accused of stealing over $170,000 of items from the celebrities.

A crime of fashion yes, but a sloppy one at that. Star’s video surveillance cameras had Prugo in all of their tapes. Yes, the price tag on an Armani suit is expensive, but is it really worth the price of going to jail?
