The RWC Writing Center will be offering four non-credit courses for the 2010 Winter Quarter. These four courses are all aimed towards certain aspects of writing and can help you to better understand skills such as pronunciation, conversation, grammar, and more. The first course is English Skills Tutorial (EST). This course is for students who wish to brush up on their English skills and is especially recommended to students who have English as a second language. This course focuses on English grammar, reading, writing, and speaking skills in an individualized one-on-one tutorial.
The second course is English Language Pronunciation (ELP). This course focuses on teaching students how to generate stress patterns, use intonation, and put reductions/liaisons into practice.
The third course is English Conversation Circle (ECC). This course is designed for students with English as a second language who would like to improve their spoken English skills.
The last course is Grammar and Editing (G&E). This course is designed for both students with English as a second language and American students. This course focuses on strengthening, refreshing, and practicing Standard American Written English.
All courses cost $300 for ten sessions. EST is taught by an academic tutor as a one-on-one tutorial, while the other three courses have five to seven students per class.
