Cincinnati Jazz Great to Perform Here

Cincinnati jazz great Kathy Wade will perform three upcoming concerts in the RWC Theater. First is part of RWC’s ARTrageous Saturdays, titled “Kathy Wade: A Black Anthology of Music (BAM),” presented by Learning Through Art, Inc. The concert takes place Saturday, November 14, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are $5. Next, Wade will lead a musical voyage through the history of American Classical Music-jazz, that is. This journey traces the origins and influences of jazz from African tribal rhythms to slave work songs to spirituals to gospel to blues, all the way to the present day. This is event recommended for children ages 3 – 10.

To get tickets online visit the site www.rwc.uc.edu/alumni/artcultural/artrageous.htm. Next, RWC’s Rhythm ‘n’ Blue Ash series will present “An Intimate Evening of Jazz with Kathy Wade.” This event takes place Saturday, November 14, at 8 p.m.

Student tickets are being sold for $5 and general admission is $10 advance and $12 at the door. Wade and the Ed Moss Trio will perform a night of classic hot jazz standards and soulful blues.
