Students and faculty in the RWC Dental Hygiene Program were recipients of awards at the recent Ohio Dental Hygiene Association (ODHA) Meeting. 1. Biz McClure received the Sandra L. Winchell Award for Exemplary Service from the ODHA. She was recognized for being a tireless and strong advocate for students. Her actions enhance the image of the ODHA, according to the award citation.
2. RWC student Luke Burroughs won the Christopher Simmons Scholarship, which is designed to “recognize a student who had demonstrated academic achievement, a commitment to lifelong learning, community service, professional association involvement, rapport of faculty and a future vision through the development of personal and professional goals.”
3. RWC Dental Hygiene students Jessica Rolling, Morgan Bolling and Akino Kishigawa also received 1st Place for their display titled “Cranberries exhibit 2 properties, anti-oxidants & anti-adhesives.” As first place winners, they had to present in front of the whole Awards group, which was approximately 150 people.
