Vet Tech Program Optimistic After Site Visit

Although the results of the recent reaccreditation evaluation for the RWC Veterinary Technology Program won’t be officially available until this upcoming April, all indications are that the visit went well. Earlier this month, a site visit team visited RWC to see how students, faculty, and the administration for the Vet Tech Program are operating.First year Program Director Dr. Jennifer Wells had all eyes on her during this visit, seeing as how it was her first “site reaccreditation” visit while being Program Director.

Dean O’meara had a few words to say about the visit after talking to the reaccreditation team. “Please join me in congratulating Veterinary Technology faculty, Dr. Jennifer Wells, Dr. Kim Myers, Dr. Jane Goecke, and the rest of the staff in preparing for this excellent team visit,” he announced in a memo to faculty and staff.

Dr. Wells stated that the site team was very impressed with the academic and administrative support for students here at RWC from the time they arrived. Bigger schools sometimes have a more difficult time giving more attention to students and basically showing that they care, but the site team was very complimentary of the faculty’s attentiveness to the students.

The team members were also very impressed with the student services at RWC. The small class sizes also stood out to the site team, especially in freshman level courses.
