“The Vagina Monologues” Here For Valentine’s Weekend

RWC Behavioral Science Professor Dr. Edie Fisher and RWC student Kari Shields are teaming up with the RWC Student Life Office to produce “The Vagina Monologues,” a play by Eve Ensler. The production will take place in the auditorium in Muntz Hall, Room 119, over Valentine’s Day weekend.

Student Life is sponsoring the event, and tickets can be purchased in the Student Life office. Reservations are also accepted. Non-reserved seating will be first come, first serve.

The cost is $6 per ticket, and every dime will go to the Youth Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) in Batavia to support their House of Peace shelter and food pantry.

The production will take place the following dates and times:
Friday, February 12, at 7 p.m.
Saturday, February 13, at 7 p.m.
Sunday, February 14, at 2 p.m.

Kari Shields is heading the production as artistic director and co-producer with Dr. Fisher. The cast and crew consist entirely of RWC students and faculty.

“This is a great chance to support a good cause,” said Dr. Fisher. “Kari deserves the credit for being the driving force behind this. She is the one who came up with the idea for the play, and she has done an extraordinary job of putting this all together.”
It was also Ms. Shields’ idea to donate to the YWCA, where she works as a victims’ advocate.
