Growing up, kids could hear their parents in the background most of the days while they were in their room playing video games. With more and more violent video games surfacing involving more shooting, bombing, killing, etc., it’s understandable as to why a majority of parents struggle with the idea that their kids are spending hours of their youth on such a “waste of time.”On the other hand, recently, the gaming systems have developed games that exercise learning and thinking related to math, science, health, etc. However, there are also more games coming out that deal with killing.
The people playing these violent games may be increasing their ability to have better eye-hand coordination and developing a desire to shoot a real gun and possibly increase their desire to go into the military, but these games are addicting, and it is not unusual for someone to play for hours on end.
The addictiveness to these games is what seems to bother parents most because that time could be spent studying and getting better grades in class.
There are always two sides to every story, and almost everyone has his or her own opinion regarding the true effects concerning video games. What do you think?
