The Raymond Walters Library staff is pleased to welcome its new staff member, Rachel Lewis. Lewis joins the RWC library team in the capacity of Technical Services Manager and Public Services Associate. Lewis’s job entails overseeing library technical services. “I’ll be purchasing material, processing and cataloging the books,” she said, “basically all the behind the scenes activities that need to be done before the books go up on the shelf.”
Lewis’s appointment complements her existing capability and prior experience. Prior to joining RWC, she worked as Reference Librarian at a law firm in Washington, D.C. Her educational qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Maryland.
“We are very excited to have Rachel on board!” said Heather Maloney, Associate Senior Librarian and Interim Library Director of the RWC Library.
Lewis will also be working at the public service desks. Lewis’s name and contact information are available in the staff directory section of the RWC library website.
Lewis explained that students could approach the Library with suggestions about books they would like added to the RWC catalog.
“After going through the Collection Development Policy on the Library website, students can send suggestions to rwclibrary@ucrwcu.rwc.uc.edu,” she said.
