Fashion has to come from somewhere, so where does it come from? Fashion Shows! This year there have been many great shows. Here’s a recap of my personal favorite: Kimora Lee Simons for Baby Phat. The theme of the show was a Moroccan vacation about a fashionable globe trotter. Outfits varied from shirts, skirts, dresses, bikinis, shorts, bags, shoes, to jewelry.
One word to describe the show: bold. The colors were vibrant, with yellow, orange, pink, purple, and blue. It also had an array of patterns from floral in many different shades to the Baby Phat logo. Those were the essence of the shirts and dresses; the pants and skirts were denim in the shades of dark blue, gray, light blue, and ripped.
Bikinis and one piece swimsuits were colors of yellow, black, orange, and pink, and they also had cheetah print bikinis. They were all jeweled with gold. Bags, the newest must-have accessories, varied in colors and were handbags, clutches, and oversized. They had the colors of gold, pink, black, white, blue, and floral/animal prints patterns. All the bags were accessorized with gold accents.
Shoes had an earthy look with tans. They were flats and heels. They had different jeweled accents and were beaded. Other shoes had bulky pieces on the top.
Jewelry was chunky; it was the final piece to every outfit. The pieces were gold and silvery and had chunky jewels. Other pieces had an earthy tone with the beads. There were long pieces such as necklaces with their variety of short and long chains.
The earrings varied with long pieces: earrings that were short, hoops, dangling, and studs. Bracelets were chunky with many jewels and patterns; there were also bangles in many different colors and patterns.
Overall, the show and the outfits were amazing, and I encourage all of you to get a piece of Baby Phat for your summer vacations.
