Dean Begins 15-Month Series of Changes For RWC

It’s a new year and a new Dean for Raymond Walters College. Dean Cady Short-Thompson has many new ideas for RWC. Known for her passion and dedication, Dean Short-Thompson has several upgrades in store for the campus. She wants to make the College a place that students, faculty, and the community can enjoy. One of her plans involves expanding the cafeteria so that students have a bigger and better place to eat lunch and relax with friends. A variety of different foods will also be offered so all people can get what they like, according to their preference. Another plan is to expand the back lot parking with 200 to 300 more parking spots for the growing student body. In addition, an expanded sitting area outside the entrance of Muntz Hall will offer more comfortable seating.

And the Annex building, on the corner of Cooper and Plainfield roads, will be transformed into the E-media building, so that the expanding program will have the space to do its activities. Dean Short-Thompson also plans to expand her office so that she can have all her people in the same area.

Furthermore, the Dean plans to have regular events where students can come and talk to her one-on-one with food and beverages. See the announcement for the first scheduled discussion in this issue.

She has also installed talk boxes in the Muntz and Science and Allied Health Building (SAHB) lobbies. The talk box in Muntz is outside the OneStop office. In SAHB, it is located on the pillar by the stairs in the seating area. These talk boxes offer students a way to communicate to Dean Short-Thompson about anything.

Though some of these changes are already in place, it should take 15 months for all of them to be completed.
