On the Spot: Midterm Election Issues

For this issue, we asked RWC students planning to vote in the 2010 Midterm Election: Before you pull the lever, what’s the biggest issue that will decide your vote?

Tony McClure, Secondary Ed.

“I actually don’t know all the candidates on the ballot, but I hate all of the negative advertising on television and will probably vote against the candidates who run them.”

Erik Jackson, Pre-Mortuary Science

“For me, the biggest issue is getting government the hell out of the economy. Stop stealing our money, stop regulating everything, and stop borrowing from foreign nations.”

Erica Osborne, Nursing

“The current political and economical environment is too complex to be a single issue voter. Since every issue is important to me, I’ll be selecting candidates on a case-by-case basis.”

Adam Howard, Liberal Arts

“As a former active-duty and now reservist Marine, I’ll probably be voting for the candidates who heartily espouse strong benefits for veterans.
