As the quarter progresses, interesting activities start to become more frequent for the students of RWC. For example, RWC French Professor Jody Ballah, took her Beginning French class on an evening outing to a one-man show at Northern Kentucky University. The one-man show provided an introduction to the life and works of the famous 17th Century French playwright Molire. The show is called “Molire than Thou” and was created and performed by an American actor, Tim Mooney.
Students were able to experience a taste of French culture in a humorous, comedic way that brought to life one of France’s great literary figures. Students found it very humorous and made comparisons to Shakespeare.
After seeing the show, students were required to write a short commentary on the performance and what they learned about this playwright’s comedic style.
Since 2003, Tim Mooney has received rave reviews for the one-man show he has put on. For more information about Tim Mooney and his one-man show visit his website http://www.timmooneyrep.com/moliere_than_thou/index.html
