Music: Good Charlotte Delivers One From the Heart

Pop punk band Good Charlotte re-emerges onto the scene and back to their roots with fifth studio album, “Cardiology.”Initially due for a much earlier release, the album was re-recorded due to Good Charlotte’s dissatisfaction with the initial “made for mainstream success” sound pushed by then producer Howard Benson. True to their testament, Good Charlotte got back in the studio with their debut album producer Don Gilmore to record an album that has early Charlotte fans praising the band for their return to the sound that propelled them to success in the early 2000s.

Officially released October 27 and currently holding strong in the Top 20 most downloaded albums on iTunes, “Cardiology” is a testament to the band’s ability to turn the focus back on fans after many saw them as drifting away from their roots in recent years.

Listening to “Cardiology” is like taking a step back in time to the not so distant days when the modern pop-punk sound first rocked your little junior high school world. Take Good Charlotte’s advice, ditch the mainstream for awhile, and go pick up a copy of “Cardiology.” The little pre-teen inside of you will be sure to thank you for it.
