The RWC Nursing Department is buzzing with activity. Among other things, at the beginning of this school year, the Department welcomed several new faculty. Roslyn (Randi) Mertens, Assistant Professor, who completed a teaching practicum at RWC in Fall 2007, returned to a full-time tenure track position and Traci Gabbard, Assistant Professor, comes to the College with clinical teaching experience from Miami University and Wright State University. Both faculty have obstetrical nursing expertise.
Rebecca Barton, Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing, comes from Hondros College. She has expertise in critical care nursing, online teaching, and simulation experience. Professor Jennifer Ellis, while not new to the Department, has accepted a tenure track position. Professor Ellis has been at RWC for two years and is excited about this new role within the Department.
The Department also added a new staff member. Ms. Amy Naehring is a registered nurse with experience in simulation. Ms. Naehring comes from the College of Nursing; she is the Department’s Educational Specialist, with responsibilities for lab coordination and simulation development.
