Things are looking better for RWC’s study abroad programs, at least partially because they are receiving more help financially, thanks to RWC Dean Cady Short-Thompson. The Dean’s new study abroad scholarship funds will provide $15,000 to help more students get the opportunity to travel the world and experience things they could have never imagined. RWC is offering three study abroad trips in the summer of 2011: to Great Britain, Costa Rica, and Quebec. For more information on these programs, visit the RWC Study Abroad website at www.rwc.uc.edu/saec/.
During International Education Week, November 15-19, tips were given out to help students get a better understanding of what they need to do in order to apply for financial aid. These tips can be found at www.rwc.uc.edu/saec/RWCstudyabroadaid.html.
In addition to the tips, grant and scholarship workshops will be held in December to help students with the financial aid application process. It is important that all students who seek help from the RWC workshops contact their Academic Advisor and/or Outreach Supervisor to discuss details of academic course work and outreach projects before coming to any workshops.
There will be two workshops held: Saturday, December 11 and Thursday, December 16. Both workshops will be in Muntz 350 from 10 a.m. to noon.
