Students in the RWC Criminal Justice Program will be taking a trip to the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility on Friday, May 20. All Criminal Justice students are invited to attend and must contact Professor Marilyn Simon to confirm attendance, because seating is limited. The bus will leave from RWC at 6 a.m. and return between 3 and 3:30 p.m.
The trip will include a tour of the Lucasville Prison, a Maximum Security Penal Institution and home of Ohio’s “death house,” where death row inmates are executed.
Students interested in the trip should make sure their schedules are clear before signing up. The trip does not automatically count as an excused absence from classes, but is, as Professor Simon says, “a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
