Most people, I bet, make the assumption that since I am the shy and quiet type, I don’t let loose. Truth is, I do, but only when you really get to know me and get under my skin. But since I am that shy and quiet girl, I will fill you in on what I’m all about. I don’t care what other people think of me. They can think whatever they want. I am sarcastic, and I like honesty. I don’t like lying or being lied to. I’d rather know something than not know it, because I don’t like being out of the loop. And if you ask my opinion on something, I won’t hesitate to tell you how I feel.
If you don’t like it, well then, that’s your problem. I’m very independent. You could say that I dance to the beat of my own drum. I’d rather do things for myself before I ask for help. I hate it when someone comes up to me and starts helping me out. I’m confident in myself, and if I put my mind to something, you can bet that I’m going to do it. I am very strong willed.
People often mistake my facial expressions for something else. My expressions don’t reflect how I really think about things. You can’t always judge a book by its cover. You can talk to me about basically anything, and I won’t care. I don’t judge others. And I am pretty open minded on just about anything.
I am a huge fan of music. I love it. I can’t live without it and couldn’t imagine a life that doesn’t have it in it. I’ll listen to almost anything except rap, metal, and most country. I’m quite fascinated by the ’60s and ’70s culture with the hippies and whole the peace and love idea. This is probably my favorite era. This is when music was most at its prime. I mean, how could you not like the Beatles, the Who, Bob Dylan, or Janis Joplin? I guess you could say that I have a very old soul.
I’m also a huge fan of the ’90s, especially the grunge era. Alice in Chains is my favorite as far as grunge goes. There is no doubt that they are the best. But what are the 90s without the pop music? I still love my boy bands but maybe not as much as I did way back when. The Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC have always been my favorites, especially the Backstreet Boys. As far as today’s music or even the ’80s, most of it I think is pretty lame, and it all sounds the same. I honestly don’t listen to music from the ’80s that much, but I do listen to some from today. I like Lady Gaga, and I absolutely adore Kings of Leon.
I’m very passionate about writing. I write poetry in my spare time. My poetry is based upon everyday stuff like what’s happened to me, what I see around me, or dreams I’ve had. I’m even pursuing a career in journalism. I’m not quite sure what kind of journalism I want to get into, yet. In the fall, I will be transferring to UC main campus for their journalism program. I can honestly tell you that I can’t wait.
I love funny stuff. So don’t be afraid to act crazy around me, even though I may look at you weird from time to time. I love hanging out with my crazy friends and by that, I do mean crazy. They always put me in a better mood and always make me laugh.
