At the RWC Distinguished Awards Ceremony on April 29, Tammy Mansfield, a 1992 graduate of the RWC Nursing Program, was honored as one of two 2011 Distinguished Alumni of the College. She was given the award primarily for her work in AIDS care. She works as a Registered Nurse at University Hospital counseling and doing research on AIDS. Even with her job, she is still able to spend time in the community volunteering. She is a representative for the Community Advising board at University hospital. She also helped coordinate Lifefest, which educates teens on HIV and AIDS. Mansfield is shown above on the left, receiving congratulations from RWC Dean Cady Short-Thompson during the Award Ceremony.
