This year, the Math, Physics and Computer Science Department has four visiting faculty members, one of whom is Quocnam Nguyen.
Professor Nguyen’s career started at Normandale Community College in Minnesota, taking classes as a senior in high school. He then transferred to the University of St. Thomas and then to Loyola University of Chicago. While at Loyola, He was a part-time instructor.
Professor Nguyen holds an Associate of Arts, Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Science in Mathematics.
After graduating, he taught a semester at an inner city public school in Chicago, before leaving to teach at a private high school in Istanbul, Turkey.
When his contract in Istanbul was completed, he returned to the same school in Chicago. Three years and two high schools later, Professor Nguyen arrived at UC Blue Ash.
While living in Chicago, Professor Nguyen played soccer and also enjoys playing golf and snowboarding. He is currently training to run a marathon.
He also enjoys traveling. While living in Istanbul, he was able to visit many places in Europe, Africa and Asia.
