The University of Cincinnati has its own radio station, Bearcast Radio, which has been around for five years. It is ranked nationally as one of the top twenty Internet radio stations.
Colin Lutz, a UCBA eMedia student, is the new director of Bearcast Radio. Colin is the host of his own show, Brain Damage, which is on every Thursday at 10 p.m.-2 a.m. Brain Damage plays a music mixture of today’s and yesterday’s rock, along with a sense of comic relief from the host himself.
Bearcast Radio is streaming 24/7, with a variety of talk shows, sports, live interviews, and, of course, music. Tune in at bearcastradio.com to listen to Brain Damage and other shows on the season schedule.
Any student of UC, UCBA or UCC has the opportunity to get involved, whether you’re interested in hosting your own show or helping out with commercials and promotions.
Students do not have to be majoring in broadcasting, but they can earn up to three credit hours in the autumn or winter quarters.
All students have to do is show up at one of the meetings, which are held in Mary Emery Hall, Room 3244, at 6:30 p.m. on the first three Thursdays of every quarter (except summer quarter), served with free Papa John’s pizza at every meeting.
