Whether it was a current University of Cincinnati student, proud alumni of the school, member of faculty, or just a fan of our university, many Bearcats showed up at the Great American Ballpark to watch the Red’s face the Washington Nationals for the fourth annual Cincinnati University Bearcats Night at Great American Ballpark.
The University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Reds teamed up to offer a night to demonstrate our true Cincinnati colors. If you arrived early for the game, you could enjoy pregame ceremonies featuring raffle prizes, drink and appetizer specials, and an on-field presentation at 6:40 p.m. for members of the Bearcat community.
The game officially kicked off at 7:10 P.M., and was followed by the first Friday Night Fireworks show of the season!
The Cincinnati Reds, only 2.5 games away from a National League Central Division first place, suffered a 7-2 loss. The Washington Nationals secured a first place position in their division.
Even with the Red’s dramatic loss, it was worth it to see the stands painted red, white, and black and cheer on our city and our school.
