As many of you may know, The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College (UCBA) will be under construction starting in the summer of 2012. Because of this construction many departments will be relocating themselves in the building to a bigger and better section, such as Disability Services.
The Disability Services will now be located in Muntz 112L, instead of right off the computer lab. “This means that the testing rooms will be quieter for students, which should help them to maintain their concentration,” said John Kraimer who is the head of Disability Services at UCBA. The disability room is small and cramped, which can distract the students from learning and also being able to concentrate on their work. This new move will better them in the long run.
They will also be moving not only because of the construction, but now the professors will have more office space. The library will be their temporary location, until the new room is renovated. The students and professors are beyond excited for this move and for a new way of learning for their students.
Sometimes the movement of different locations can help or hurt a department. The Disability Services Department is “still working with the architects on some design aspects, but if everything works as planned, it should be an improvement over our existing space,” said Mr. Kraimer.
Since semester conversion is coming up as well, it will be a great refreshing start for Disability Services to prepare for an amazing year. Currently there are no planned events for Disability Services, but with finals week they are making sure all their students are well prepared.
