Attention students: to better accommodate semesters, the Communication Design major will now be entitled the Applied Graphic Design major, coming this fall. According to Professor John Wolfer, it encompasses “both print and web-based media.” The program is looking for students who are hard workers and are interested in “solv[ing] problems visually.” Students are promised quality time with their teachers, as well as state-of-the-art equipment.
Full time students will be able to finish the program in two to three years. Graduates will be able to “seek employment in a variety of professional settings requiring design support including advertising agencies, printing companies, in-house art department, or other areas of communications and public relations,” Professor Wolfer stated. This major is partnered with DAAP’s “Graphic Communication Design” program in order for students to be able to fluidly transfer to either program.
Students interested in this major, or already enrolled in the Graphics Communication major, should meet with an advisor to be sure that they are on schedule with their classes.
