Skype Tutoring Now Available in Writing Center

Tutoring via Skype is now available in the UCBA Writing Center. This is an option set up for students who can’t necessarily make it into the Writing Lab for face-to-face tutoring, but still want the benefits right from home.
This is an easy process with step-by-step directions given to schedule an appointment with one of the writing tutors here at UCBA.
Step 1: Log into Blackboard and select Starfish from the Tools menu.
Step 2: Select “Show Services” under “My Success Network” and find UCBA Writing Tutor.
Step 3: Choose a writing tutor (Laurie Bailer or Eric Van Hoose) from the list and select “See Available Appointments” link.
Step 4: Select the day and time, then find “Add Appointment” and select “Skype Appointment.” All appointments must be scheduled online.
Lastly, Step 5: When it’s time for your appointment, use Skype to call the username “UCBAWritingCenter.” More information can be found at www.ucblueash.edu/writingcenter/writing_center/onlinetutoring.html.
