The Web: Soundcloud Gives Musicians an Edge

SoundCloud is an online audio distribution platform that was established in Germany in August of 2007.
SoundCloud has recently gained in popularity and has challenged MySpace as a platform for musicians to distribute their music.
SoundCloud allows music files to be embedded anywhere online, which makes it easy for musicians to share their music through Twitter and Facebook.
The site offers additional features to users with paid subscriptions. These users are given more hosting space and can distribute tracks and recording to more groups and users.
SoundCloud won the Schroder’s Innovation Award at the 2011 European Tech Tour Awards Dinner and has gained over 10 million registered users. SoundCloud gives both upcoming and well-known artists an extra edge to advance their music careers.
