UCBA Blitzes Social Media Sites

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash is now widening its resources for students and faculty to stay connected through social media sites. These sites include Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Pinterest, YouTube, and a UCBA blog.
This is a convenient way for the College to stay in touch with its student body, and keep them up to date on events, changes, and all kinds of information relating to UCBA. It’s also a way for students considering attending campus to check out what it’s all about.
The Facebook and Twitter pages are mainly designed for students to read about past events and upcoming ones as well. Even emergency situations can be read through these pages, which is helpful for those who don’t see their emails right away. These pages are also open to direct suggestions from students.
The YouTube account is yet another way to share in a more visual way with students the past events that have taken place on Campus. A more recent video posted celebrates UCBA’s 45th anniversary and takes viewers back to 1967 all the way through 2012.
Pinterest and Flickr are also more visual ways for students to connect by offering photos of previous events and changes going on around campus. Lastly, the blog includes a variety of everything-photos, videos, information and stories, all based around UCBA.
Pete Bender is the technical/production manager at UCBA and has been in charge of every social media site offered to students. Most photos found on these sites are his as well. Bender wanted to find a convenient and fun way to get students more connected around campus, and since social media is trending so rapidly today, these sites are the College’s attempt to keep pace with technological change.
