On Sunday, October 6, the United Pet Fund, along with St. Francis Seraph Church on Liberty and Vine, sponsored the annual Pet Health Day in Cincinnati. UCBA Veterinary Technology Faculty and students assisted at the event.
The event allows economically struggling pet owners to receive free exams for their pets from volunteer veterinarians. They can also get parasite control products, pet food and a mini M.A.S.H unit, all at no charge.
Zoetis Animal Health and United Pet Fund provided vaccines and medical supplies.
Staffing this event were volunteers from United Pet Fund, University of Cincinnati Blue Ash Veterinary Technology Program, Delta Airline Cincinnati Pit Crew as well as many others who provided preventative pet health care to pet owners who can’t afford it.
During a period of four hours, 214 dogs and cats and one rabbit were provided services. Volunteering for the event were UCBA Vet Tech Professor Jane Goecke DVM, along with UCBA students Crystal Merkel, Allison Gibson, Cassie Vanskyock, and Mady Murray.
