On November 2, students from all 12 Ohio dental hygiene programs presented table clinics in competition at the Ohio Dental Hygienists’ Association Annual Session.
With over 70 participants, the UCBA Dental Hygiene program had eight clinics participate, with one of the UCBA clinics receiving a second place award for its presentation on “The Missing Piece: Host Modulation in Periodontal Therapy.”
The competition was judged by practicing hygienists and program educators. The UCBA team was mentored by Professor Barbara Kunselman, RDH, MS. The students who brought home the silver medal were Jennifer MacKnight, Sharon Bundy, Katie Millsap, and Morgan Pater.
