Dear Editor:
I am writing to inform students at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College about the outstanding dental hygiene clinic we have here on campus. Although the clinic is located right here on campus many students are not aware of the services it provides.
The community and students of The University of Cincinnati are invited to come get educated about oral health, and get their teeth clean for a small fee (20 dollars). As a student studying to become a dental hygienist at the University, I am passionate about educating my peers on the importance of oral health. This includes getting an annual dental cleaning every six months.
Many students are unaware that bacteria in the mouth that go unnoticed can cause major problems such as periodontal disease (gum disease), linked to heart disease, and many more. A good dental cleaning can prevent cavities, stop tooth loss, boost your self-esteem, and help boost your overall health. Visiting the clinic on campus can not only help students save money but can also help the dental hygiene students as they learn different techniques on how to care for patients.
I am urging students to contact the dental hygiene clinic to schedule a dental cleaning. Contact information is on the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College website at http://www.ucblueash.edu/about/community/clinic.html.
Sincerely,
Mariah Emery
