Before we answer with a yes or a no lets talk about some pros and cons. Some pros are that UC Blue Ash is a commuter school. If you don’t know what that means, its basically saying that we all have to get here in some way. We don’t live on campus. So with this said, we can’t walk to our room and take a nap in between our long breaks, if anyone made the mistake of having a long one on our tiny campus. But, I’m beginning to get off topic, so back to the pros of having somewhere to sleep. We don’t have to look stupid laying across the couches in the library, or

lining up chairs to lay across. Or what about when you walk up to your car and turn around to see someone laying in the car next to you napping. If that’s never happened to you before it’s a pretty scary situation. So if we had a sleeping area we could avoid all strange encounters that we face while trying to nap.
Now of course all of you are thinking “hell yeah” lets do this; it sounds like a great idea. Yet lets think about our campus real quick … if we had sleeping areas, could they be cleaned regularly? Does anyone actually have a long enough break where it makes sense to take a nap? Other than me, of course, because I have enough time to write this article. Where would we put an area to sleep at?
Now that I have introduced some good questions, do you still think it’s a good idea? Personally, I think, no.
My reasoning behind this is that there really is no reason behind having a place to sleep. Most people are not here all day for it to be worth it to simply take a nap. In the areas, would there be areas for couches, beds, or both? If they were just couches, I would feel a little more comfortable sleeping after someone as opposed to if they were legitimate beds with sheets.

Students get creative about napping locations.
Also, if there were a sleeping area, there probably should be a check-in system. Students would have to sign their names on a sheet stating that they were in the area at a certain time. This is needed because there would probably be a limited amount of space for students, especially if there are a large number of students who would want to take a nap at the same time. Last but certainly not least, how long would the area be open? There are some classes that start at 8 AM as well as some that start at 6 PM and end around 9 PM. Would the area open at 6 AM and close around 9 PM?
There are so many questions that have definitely made me uncertain about this idea, but if you would like to see a sleeping area, then I definitely think you should purpose it to the school, and see what happens.
