The Art and Visual Communication Department has just taken down an exhibit of art representing the best of art by students as named by the department faculty. For the rest of the quarter, there will be a revolving exhibit of class work from the Adjunct Professors classes. Next quarter, you can see a new exhibit of this quarter’s best work. It will be on display in the Library and the third floor display cases located outside Room 327 Muntz.
Selections from both exhibits have won semi-annual status in the annual “Year’s Best” poster competition. This is an annual poster designed by the internship students of the Art and Visual Communication Department. It highlights the best student artwork.
Also, the Department is still working on the redesign of the Activist, to make it more modern, easier to read, and more generally appealing. They also have a hope that it follows more current generational trends, as well as enable an internal solution for the printing budget.
The Department has worked past the research and concept phase of the project, moving on to the design process. This project is being done by the Publication Design class, taught by Professor Patrick Schreiber.
Stay posted and more information will be announced as it becomes available.
