“Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Beginning” has arrived just in time to set the mood for Halloween. Since this is a prequel to “Texas Chain Saw Massacre,” most people would think any viewer would have to observe the first movie to even remotely understand the story plot. But the audience is in luck because whether you’ve seen the first movie or do not even know what it’s about, you’re not going to want to pass this movie by.
So what if a ticket will cost you $8, a medium popcorn $4.75 (would you like a large for 25 cents more?), and a medium drink $3.25? This movie is ordinarily priceless.
Invaluable, that is, if you like people being decapitated, blood curdling screams, incestuous looking families, and cannibalism. And if you don’t, well hey, where is your holiday spirit?
Much like the previous film, this one is about a group of teens traveling across Texas when something unexpected happens and they’re thrown into the hands of the Hewitt family. The story shows viewers how Leather Face became the crazed perpetrator of chainsaw massacres and just why the Hewitts are the unbalanced, blood-distraught clan that they portray themselves to be.
I’m not going to divulge in any further details because then there would be no reason for you to go see it yourself. But if the sound alone of the spine chilling banjo rendition in Deliverance sends you running for the hills, I must say this movie is not for you. Although if you’re in the mood to witness inhuman acts of violence and not troubled to witness, well, a lot of gore, I definitely recommend going to see this movie. It’s only suitable for this October month!
