Midterm elections are right around the corner. Currently, things seem to be a bit of a toss up, with neither party having a drastic lead over the other in the polls. For Hamilton County, Ohio’s First Congressional District, Republican Congressman Steve Chabot is up for re-election, running against Democrat John Cranly, who says, “I am running for Congress to restore accountability to the people of Ohio’s First Congressional District.”
For Ohio’s Second Congressional District, the race is on between Republican Congresswoman Jean Schmidt and Democratic Dr. Victoria Wulsin. Wulsin will be speaking at Main Campus to the student body of the College of Medicine on October 18.
Republican Senator Mike Dewine is up for re-election in the Senate, running against Democrat Congressman Sherrod Brown. Dewine is working towards cutting taxes for Ohioans and providing better protection of our troops, while Brown has opposed the war since day one.
Republican Ken Blackwell, two-term Secretary of State, is running to be Governor of Ohio against Democratic Congressman Ted Strickland. Strickland said, “Ohio’s economic growth strategy must create a highly educated and skilled workforce that studies show are the best indicator of growing economies.” Blackwell, on the other hand, says he speaks for Ohioans and understands their struggles.
