Mrs. Bonnie Johnston of the RWC Writing Lab would like everyone to know that there are poetry and essay writing contests going on right now. The poetry writing contest has separate categories for students, staff, and faculty. There isn’t much time left: the deadline is Wednesday, April 18.
The Fourth Annual Essay Writing Contest has an April 30 deadline. It is open to all students taking Preparatory English or English Composition at UC’s College of Applied Science, Clermont College, College of Evening and Continuing Education, Raymond Walters College, and University College during the 2000-2001 academic year.
Cash awards of $100 for first prize, $75 for second prize, $50 for third prize, as well as UC Bookstore Certificates for earning honorable mention, will be given for four categories of writing.
