Ulysses to provide focus of 2004 study abroad program

The 2004 RWC British Study Abroad trip will be held in Ireland and England, June 12- July 11. The classes, a literary study of the James Joyce classic novel Ulysses and a creative writing course, which will also be based on readings from Ulysses, will be taught by Professor Marlene Miner and Professor Mike Roos respectively. As you may have deduced already, this overseas trip will not merely consist of studying. According to Professor Roos, the trip will “coincide with the 100th anniversary celebration of Bloomsday. The people of Dublin will reenact scenes from the novel at the exact locations and times they occur in the novel.”

The lone prerequisite is that students must have completed English Comp III when the program commences.

Students who would like to take advantage of this trip can do so by contacting professors Roos or Miner, or Professor Eugene Kramer.
