RWC Adjunct English Professor Liz Daniel was very pleased with the turn out from the Write on Rock Out open mic session that she organized here on January 24. A Brazilian immigrant came and read some native Brazilian poetry. Also, English Professor Rhonda Pettit performed with her group of musicians, including professors Debbie Page, Julie Mitchell, and Ruth Benander. Another faculty member who performed his music was English professor Mike Roos.
Disabilities Services Director John Kraimer performed some of his poetry. He is known for his “Slammin’ Poetry,” a series of poems set as a documentary video. Several other students also read some of their own poetical works.
Professor Daniel is excited because she said she intends to have another successful session in Spring Quarter. She is in the process of planning a date and time for the event. She said that she will be announcing the details in the coming weeks.
