Fashion Must Haves: Stylish Winter Scarves

This winter has been unlike any other for me. Sure, it’s been my first winter in college, but that’s not really what I’m referring to. About a year ago, I started stepping up my style unlike ever before. Vests, v-necks, and graphic tees became a part of my daily wardrobe.

That’s the funny thing about updating your wardrobe though: you never update it for the entire year. Sure, I had spring and summer covered (and early fall too, but that’s pushing it), but when winter came along, I was pretty powerless against its cold, inescapable grip.

Now winter and I have never been friends. I love snow. Let me rephrase that: I love watching snow from a safe perch by the fire with a warm cup of coffee. But cold and I don’t get along.

It’s gotten so bad, that, every day, I count down how many more times I have to brave the cold. However, up until this winter, I never had to worry about retaining style and retaining warmth at the same time.

But in the battle of fashion versus the villainous cold, I’ve found a secret weapon: the stylish scarf.

Now I’m not talking any run of the mill rectangular scarf. I’m talking the triangular ones generally with plaid and other such patterns. They are perfect for men and women and almost any age group. I’ve not found any accessory as multi-talented as this one. It can be worn with practically anything (it works fantastic with a t-shirt, by the way) and it also keeps your neck warm.

Sure, gloves, coats and snow boots can keep you warm, but they don’t do much to help you feel stylish and confident. Most people seem to choose warmth over style. But with these scarves, you don’t have to sacrifice. So Jack Frost, do your worst; with these scarves, we’re fighting back.
