There’s a new course available from the Foreign Languages Department this spring as part of a three quarter rotation. “Survey of French Language Literature” will provide an overview of French Literature. It will focus upon the authors and their works, as well as important literary movements.No, you don’t need to know how to speak French to take this course. All the works will be taught and discussed in English. There is also no pre-requisite to taking this class.
As mentioned earlier, this is only one of three courses in this theme. In Fall of 2011 there will be a “Francophone Culture” course, which will focus on the broad perspective of all things French, and in Spring of 2012, “Introduction to French Film,” which will provide students with an overview of French films.
All these classes will be taught in English and would be great additions to any learning experience.
