Music: And the Grammy Goes To…

If you’ve never tuned into to watch the Grammies, this year’s show was the one you should have watched. Over 3.2 million viewers watched the event, which took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Some of your favorite singers and rappers worked the stage as they performed their Grammy nominated songs. Opening the show with an amazing tribute to Aretha Franklin were Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch, Martina McBride and Yolanda Adams. Unfortunately Franklin couldn’t be in attendance due to her recent hospitalization.

With winnings from the likes of Usher, John legend, Eminem and Lady Gaga, you couldn’t go wrong on this show, not to mention the crazy, sexy, and, might I add, quite interesting outfits the celebs had on. These included Rihanna’s white gown, Will Smith’s daughter Willow looking very bright in a gold outfit, and Lady Gaga, who always surprises. This time, she arrived in an egg waiting to erupt.

Her performance definitely got the crowed dancing, as she took over the stage performing her new hit single “Born This Way.” She also won the Best Pop Album of the Year.

Can we all agree that 2010 was Justin Beiber’s year? He was also one of the night’s best performers, as he sang his hit song “Baby” and a duet on “Never Say Never” with Usher and Karate Kid actor Jaiden Smith.

The fun didn’t stop there. You had other stellar performances like Cee-Lo Green, Bruno Mars, and, to close the show, Rihanna and Drake, who had the crowd on their feet rocking to the international hit “What’s My Name.”

Another big winner was Lady Antebellum for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. If you weren’t on hand to watch the biggest night of music, then you really missed out. Did your favorite artist win?
