Unity Breakfast features Artists Without Boundaries

RWC celebrated the annual Martin Luther King Unity Breakfast on Friday, January 12, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Muntz Hall featuring “Artists Beyond Boundaries.” This was a wonderful interactive social event as students were able to talk to community artists on just about any topic.

There were impressive displays of creative art made by talented artists with disabilities, who have their own network called AWDN- Artists with Disabilities Network, a not-for-profit organization committed to serving the artistic community.

Robert L. Harris, co-founder of AbleArts and AWDN president kept conversation lively with his sparkling personality.

His main goal is to help people express themselves through their own personal masterpieces, whether it be writing, drawing, singing, sculpting, or another talent to help express the person within. I have even offered to share my writings with Robert Harris and hope to have him return some of his personal writings and drawings as well.

This occasion was an event that left many students with smiles and with a little inspiration to take home.
