Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a student organization that attempts to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. Three of the four current BPA Ohio state officers are RWC students, including Christopher Wright, Ohio state president.
Last year, the Ohio State BPA convention/competition was hosted by Raymond Walters College. Several RWC students participated and placed in academic competitions at the state and national level. Some of these events included Administrative Support Team, Desktop Publishing, and Computer Network Technology.
The BPA competition offers a wide variety of events for all types of students. This year’s state competition will again be hosted by RWC, February 21-22, 2003. The national competition, for those who qualify and who are able to go, will take place at the BPA National Leadership Convention in Dallas, Texas, April 30-May 3, 2003.
Through its Torch Awards program, BPA offers its members opportunities to participate in activities by collecting points in the following categories: Leadership; Service; Cooperation; Knowledge; Friendship; Love, Hope, Faith; and Patriotism.

BPA chapter meetings for the 2002-03 year take place on Saturdays at 10 a.m. in Room 351 Muntz (Faculty Conference Room) on the following dates: Dec. 7, Jan. 11, Feb. 8, March 8, April 5, and May 31.
