One Stop Center complete at last

Students of RWC can now exhale from the long anticipated wait of the new One Stop Center. On Friday, November 15, RWC celebrated the completion of its state-of-the-art “One Stop Center.” The evening opened up with food and drinks provided by “Elegant Fair Catering Service” and a show of appreciation to all the contractors as they received accolades for meeting their goals and deadlines.

Dr. Timothy Quinnan, who served as the chairman of design and development on the One Stop project, was presented with the One Stop key, which was noted to be a “Big key for a Big job.” After that the door was opened and the tour began. The One Stop Center displays computers that students could use to meet their registration needs as well as a row of desks and offices designed to comfortably accommodate new and current students alike.

Many of the staff who will be occupying the offices at the One Stop Center were very much excited about the big move. When Doran Brock, one of the financial aid officers, was asked what he liked about the new One Stop center, he mentioned how “it was nice to have a lot more space” and how his new office would “provide more student confidentiality when addressing financial aid issues.”

Nina Adams, one of RWC’s enrollment service officers, had this to say about the new One Stop center: “Students can now come in and talk with a financial aid officer, walk over a few steps and take the college placement test, talk with an advisor, register for classes, and finally pay their bill, all in one stop.”

The RWC One Stop Center is said to be one of the premier services offered in the state and in the Midwest region of the United States.
