Raising the bar of excellence

David Hartz is one of the newest members of the RWC Electronic Media Faculty. Prior to his employment at RWC, he was a colleague of H. Michael Sanders, and graduated from Ohio State University with a Masters of Fine Arts. If his diploma seems typical for a faculty member here at RWC, the rest of his credentials will not only make most graduates ponder their self-worth, but also feel graced by his presence.

Besides having a passion for teaching and fine art, David Hartz has completed works for Eddie Bauer, Microsoft, Universal, and Smashing Ideas. Some of his projects include illustrating the Eddie Bauer book “Balance,” illustrations for Microsoft’s Ancient Lands, Dogs, Flight, Children’s Encyclopedia, and Gardening CD ROMs, texture mapping for Microsoft’s 3D games, and the user interface for Microsoft’s BackOffice. At Universal he produced animations for No Doubt, Cisqo, Erykah Baduh, Dr. Dre, Devo, and the website Icebox.

David Hartz has begun to pass his vast knowledge on to us here at RWC, and with all his work in animation and other forms of art across the globe, we should be appreciative that RWC itself has the credentials to attract people with this level of skill and accomplishment.

With his high level of involvement in the new Animation Certificate, Electronic Media Technology Majors have no excuse not to expose themselves to his expertise in the field.
