The Sam Rhine Genetic Update will be held at RWC on November 11. This conference is put on by specialists in the genetic field to inform high school students and teachers about the latest research findings in the rapidly evolving world of genetics. Holding the event here at RWC provides high school students the opportunity to explore the campus and get a glimpse of what college is actually like. According to Dr. William Garnett from RWC’s Biology department, the conference is booked and a head count prior to the event is not taken; therefore, there’s no telling how many people will show up. But last year’s event, held in the auditorium, had more than five hundred people in attendance, forcing many to stand.
