Ohio Benefits Counselor available here on Wednesdays

Are you aware that RWC has an Ohio Benefits Counselor?
An Ohio Benefits Counselor is a trained resource person who helps individuals and families determine their eligibility for state and federal benefits. These counselors are trained in the Ohio Benefits Bank (OBB), a program offered in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks. This is a free service that makes it easier and faster to determine benefit eligibility and process forms.

During these tough economic times, RWC has a resource person who can guide students in getting real help with real problems. Ken Jostworth, Benefits Counselor from the Accountability and Credibility Together program (ACT), is available to help students at RWC on Wednesdays, from 1-4 p.m., in Muntz Room 127.

The following are areas for which Ken can assess and determine a student’s eligibility:

* Children’s health care insurance
* Home energy assistance
* Child care subsidies
* Food stamps
* Free tax assistance including the Earned Income Tax Credit

If you are experiencing difficulties or wonder if you qualify for any of the above benefits, you’re encouraged to make an appointment to see Ken Jostworth by calling 745-5691, stop by M127 to make an appointment or as a walk-in, if time permits.
For additional information, see Helen Kegler in Muntz 127.
